Please correct me if I don't have the names right. Starting at the top, fried oysters (in eggs, with chili sauce), pork and chicken satay with peanut sauce, duck noodle soup, char kway teaw, and beef noodle soup with beef balls, and in the center, wan ton mee.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, Tad!
Quite a spread of hawker food you have there. If you've got the time, do post your comments on the food you've taken so far. Love to hear if they taste similar to the ones back home.

Thanks, everyone.
I'll defintely put up more detailed notes. But I will say I've only just begun my education of food from this area, but I think it's some of the most complex and exciting food that I know of and could even imagine. You have spices, herbs, chiles, different types of shrimp pastes, distinctive fruits and citrus - just layers upon layers of flavors. Plus adopting and hybridizing of cooking techniques. Not for everyone, to be sure, but I find it to be wonderous and delicious.
But I haven't had anything from out of this hemisphere aside from pastry for weeks. An apple pie sounds damn good right about now...
